Final evaluation WaSH and food security support for drought and conflict affected populations for Solidarites international in Galgaduud region, central Somalia in June 2014

This final project evaluation was conducted through desk review and intensive field assessment in 2 districts (Adaado and Abudwak) of Galgaduud region where the project was implemented. The main focus of SI’s program consisted in addressing serious food security and WASH gaps for the vulnerable population by protecting their livelihood assets and by improving access to safe water, sanitation facilities and good hygiene practices and further address the immediate urgent needs of IDPs (conflict and drop-out pastoralist) and local host populations, while continuously working to strengthen community coping mechanisms and resilience to natural disasters (drought).

The evaluation focused on the operation’s approach, the implementation process and the performance of the project. The evaluation covered all the dynamics of the project including evaluating each and every activity implemented by Solidarites International, as well as measuring the indicators against the initial targets.
