The Baidoa district stability, employment skills and entrepreneurship-strengthening (BDSESES) Investment: this was implemented by Adeso and aimed to deliver activities that empower young men and women as well as other members of the community to find solutions to their day-to-day challenges. Overall, the project is expected to contribute to SSF output 3 (Increased government visibility and community engagement) and SSF output 4 (Reduced community vulnerability to conflict). The Pay-As-You-Go Solar system was implemented by SolarGen and it aimed at providing youth with employment opportunities through its micro-franchising model as well as innovative value-added products to reduce the energy driven poverty of households. SolarGen in partnership with its implementing partner Azuri technologies Ltd was expected to expand their distribution network of Solar Home Systems to Dinsoor and Hudur. Somalione implemented the strengthening the fishery sector for improved livelihoods and economic development Investment in Barawe. The Investment aimed to in improve the capacity of the Barawe fishing cooperative and its members, promote the Local market for fish in Barawe and enhance the Government capacity to provide technical, policy and strategy development to the fishing sector. Economic development Investment: this was implemented by SOS Children’s Village. It provided the beneficiaries an opportunity to build their skills through training opportunities on entrepreneurship. The project is implemented by a consortium with SOS Children’s Village (SOSCV) as the lead agency and Modern Management Company (MMC) as implementing partner.
